Experiential Tourism Training

Experiential Tourism Training

The term ‘experiential tourism’ can mean different things to different people but in essence, it refers to tourism experiences that goes beyond the standard sightseeing, museum-going itinerary to create an experience that more deeply connects visitors to the people, place, culture, nature and heritage of a locality.

Chilterns ANOB

The Project - Completed

This project aimed to connect visitors to the locals and the landscape of the AONB, a point that was highlighted by the Chilterns Tourism Network after the Covid pandemic.

We carried out workshops in Goring with Experiential Tourism businesses to explore how they can bring the Landscape into what they do. They agreed that a shared marketing campaign would support them and took part in a wider Chilterns promotion campaign, you can see some of the participants here .

Later they were offered further support from DB Consulting and we look forward to sharing some of the learning here soon.

Continued 1:1 support was provided by Deb Brookes from DB Consulting Solutions, which has helped businesses to develop their experiences and bring them to market. 10 businesses have been supported, with 6 of these being promoted on the CCB website, Outstanding Chilterns and Muddy Stilettos. Businesses include:
